KSAL StaffJanuary 30, 2014

Charges have been filed in connection with a crash that critically injured a McPherson teacher.

Jeffrey Paul Davis faces charges of aggravated battery while driving under the influence in the December 20th crash in McPherson County that left Mija Stockman with a traumatic brain injury.

Mija Stockman is an elementary PE teacher in the McPherson school system. She was on her way to school on December when she was involved in a three car crash. Stockman stabilized at the scene initially by off duty EMT’s that happened to be near the crash scene. She was first transported to the hospital in McPherson, then to Via Cristi St Francis in Wichita. She sustained a broken right ankle, a basilar skull fracture and major bleeding and swelling in her brain. Since that time, she has been transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Bond for Davis has been set at $25,000.
