A driver avoids serious injury after wedging his car under a semi.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, 36-year-old Brian Spano of Minneapolis ran into the back of a slow moving semi on Interstate 70 near Salina on Monday morning.

Spano told deputies that he fell asleep at the wheel. He was driving a Pontiac Vibe. The car was dragged 2,888 feet before the semi stopped.

Spano was not seriously hurt in the crash.

The crash happened at 5:50 Monday morning on Interstate 70 near the 9th Street Exit.
