Boy Shot In The Eye Okay

KSAL StaffMarch 12, 2014

A 15-year old boy is shot in the eye with an airsoft gun, while a 16-year old male is facing possible charges.

Salina Police were contacted by Salina Regional Health Center after a 15-year-old was taken to the hospital on Tuesday by a parent.

Hospital staff says the boy will not suffer a long term effect from the incident that happened in a south Salina home just after 5pm yesterday.

Police say the two friends were playing when the airsoft gun discharged a plastic BB from a range less than 5-feet away from the victim. The BB hit the victim in the corner of his left eye.

The 16-year-old suspect may be facing charges of aggravated battery that could be categorized as a reckless action.
