A Salina man was taken into custody on Wednesday in connection to a domestic disturbance dating back to September 5th.

Police arrested 35-year-old Charles Nelson at his home at 1819 N. 5th on charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery and criminal restraint.

According to police, Nelson broke a protection from abuse order by visiting a female acquaintances home, forcing his way through when she opened the door.

The woman then pointed a kitchen knife at him, which he wrestled away and strangled her before leaving the home.

Nelson was arrested on a warrant at 2:40pm on Wednesday.
