Kenneth Alvin “Kenny” Sharp Jr., 84, of Salina, KS., passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026. He was born in Concordia, KS, on April 20, 1942, to Kenneth Sr. and Ellen (Barrett) Sharp. He and his sister, Frances, were raised by their maternal grandparents, Richard and Pearl Barrett, after the car accident that killed their mother in 1948.
Kenny graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1960 and served in the United States Army from 1961-64. He spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver and was the owner/operator of Ken Sharp Jr Trucking.
Survivors include his sons, David, of Wichita, KS, and Troy, of Larned, KS; daughter-in-law, Karen Sharp, of Salina; sister, Frances Arnold, of Salina; half-siblings, Jim Sharp, of Houston, TX, Charlie Sharp, of Spring, TX, and Marcia Klima, of Belleville, KS; grandchildren, DJ, Brandon, JR, Ashley, Laci, and Sarah; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Hope Bertram; and brother-in-law, Larry Arnold.
A visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 17, at Ryan Mortuary, with burial to follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
