Virginia Grace LeDuc (Schlatter) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of the April 27, 2026 at Bethany Home Lindsborg Kansas.
Virginia was the second of 7 children born on a farm outside Solomon Kansas to parents Harvey and Elizabeth (Seirs) Schlatter on May 3, 1925. Having graduated from Solomon High school in 1942 she attended Brown Mackie College working as an usherette at the Fox Theatre, Salina. She then found employment with Kent Oil company in Salina before her marriage to Raymond L. LeDuc in 1955.
She followed her husband to to Mata Venezuela and Kuwait Arabia in their early marriage. They travelled and saw a great deal of the world together. Then returning in 1967 to friends and family in Salina setting up their home. Virginia lovingly referred to as Ginny by her closest and dearest, had been a long time resident of Salina, Kansas for the past 59 years.
Before entering retirement she was a much adored and respected employee acting as resident Companion for Presbyterian Manor nearly 25 years. Virginia found much happiness while there and always spoke fondly of the people she had assisted and spent time with over the course of the years working at the Manor. She met some wonderful families who drew her in to their fold and often invited her to family gatherings. This meant a great deal and became a most treasured memory in her later years.
Virginia was a beloved mother to Brenda Jones (LeDuc) mother in law to Gary Jones and treasured grandmother to Graeme Jones of Australia. She is survived by her blessed Sister Shirley Wilkin (Schlatter) of Florida, sister in law Iva Schlatter of KC and Jerrie Whitworth of Salina Ginny is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Elizabeth, brothers and spouses Robert and Fern Schlatter, Raymond and Delora Schlatter, Everett Schlatter, Ralph Schlatter, Jack and Louisette Schlatter. Revered Brother in law John Wilkin. Former spouse Raymond LeDuc. In laws, Steve and Susie LeDuc, Norman and Mary LeDuc, Donald Dean and Gloria Jean LeDuc, Leroy and Margaret LeDuc, Betty Guinn, Ilene and Bill Mosher.
Virginia leaves behind her much adored nieces and nephews and all their extended families. Family was the most important thing of which she was fiercely devoted and she will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel on Saturday June 27, 2026 at 10:30 am followed by a gathering of friends and family.
