The Salina Police Department responded to a three vehicle crash in the 2000 blk of Centennial Rd at just before 11:00 AM on Sunday January 4th.
Based on the investigation conducted by the Salina Police Department Traffic Unit it was determined that a 2001 Honda Accord driven by 20-year old-Brayden Brown was traveling northbound and attempted to pass a 2023 Buick Envision driven by 26-year-old Cesareo Morales Jr.
The Buick Envision also contained 2 juvenile children under the age of 14. At the same time a 2007 Ford Edge driven by 26-year-old Falon Deherrera was driving south bound on Centennial as the Honda was attempting to pass the Buick.
During the passing maneuver the Honda clipped the Buick. The Buick then left the roadway went through a fence and flipped onto its roof. The Honda started to leave the roadway as well, then over-corrected back onto the roadway, crossing over to the southbound lanes of traffic. It was then struck by the southbound Ford causing significant damage to the Honda.
Brayden Brown was ejected from the Honda and transported to Salina Regional Health Center for minor injuries. All occupants from the Buick were transported to Salina Regional Health Center with minor injuries and the driver of the Ford, Falon Deherrera, was transported to SRHC and later airlifted to a Wichita hospital.
The crash, and events leading up to it are still currently under investigation.

A crash in which five people were injured prompted a road closure.
According to Salina Police, they were investigating an injury accident in the area of the 2000 block of Centennial Road. A portion of the road was closed, but has since opened back up.
At least five people were hurt in the crash, including at least two of them seriously.
The crash happened late Sunday morning.
