Spirit AeroSystems Ordered to Pay Former Employee

Spirit AeroSystems is being ordered by a Sedgwick County jury to pay more than two million dollars to a former employee.

A jury found that the Wichita manufacturer retaliated against a former employee who accused the company of racial discrimination.

J. Greg Horinkek filed the lawsuit in June 2024 and claimed the company blacklisted him from future employment in the aviation industry by reporting derogatory information to prospective employers in retaliation for his protected activities.
