Peggy Anne Orner

Peggy Anne Orner, 95, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, completed her earthly journey on October 12, 2025, at Pinnacle Park Healthcare, surrounded by the love of her family.

Peggy was born in Bennington, Kansas to Esther Copple and Nelson Stickley on December 13, 1929. She was a graduate of Bennington High School. June 1947 Peggy married George Orner Jr. They had four daughters together. Peggy demonstrated resilience and perseverance as a farmer’s wife living on the homestead east of Bennington.

Peggy was passionate about her family and meals. She made many trips to the wheat fields with home cooked fried chicken dinners and home-made canned sand hill plum jelly. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cross stitching.

Peggy encouraged her daughters to pursue successful careers. Through every hardship, she taught her daughters the true meaning of strength. Her greatest joy was her family, and her love was the foundation of our lives. The love and wisdom she instilled in us will forever be her legacy.

Peggy is survived by her daughters: Cindy Miller (Grandchildren: Richard and Nicole), Cathy Ernotte (Grandchildren: Stephanie and Jacques), Cheryl Hamilton, and Christina Krager (Grandchildren: Casey(great grandchildren: Tyler & Nicholas), Cory (Great Grandson: Hunter) & Grandchild: Carlie). She is also remembered by several friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30, on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at Bennington, Cemetery, Bennington Kansas.
