Investigators say it was a grill fire that destroyed a McPherson home yesterday.

Local fire crews responded to the home in the thousand block of South Ash Street just before 11:30 a.m. The fire spread from the grill to the back porch and eventually to the house.

Two residents and a dog were able to get out safely.
