9 Found in Warrant Sweep

KSAL StaffOctober 3, 2014

A warrant sweep by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office nets nine arrests.

Four, 2-man teams of deputies had 33 warrants in hand on Thursday evening as they traveled around the county knocking on doors, double checking addresses trying to find citizens who have civil and district court warrants.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that they have 3,805 active warrants in the mix, “We’re trying to find people who aren’t following the rules,” he said.

The Sheriff says that the transient lifestyle of some of the people they are looking for adds to the task.

Deputies made 55 attempts yesterday to find violators and discovered 14 addresses were incorrect – which according to the Sheriff sends the process back to square one.
