From KSN : A 6-year-old boy has been the victim of a hit-and-run incident that took place around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, near the 6200 block of E. Eilerts.

The boy arrived to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Police say they are searching for a 2000s model Pontiac Grand Prix, either silver or gray. Witnesses were unable to confirm whether or not the license plate was from Kansas or out-of-state.

The boy was crossing Eilerts Street when the car struck him. When hit, the boy rolled over the top of the vehicle before hitting the ground.

Before hitting the boy the vehicle was traveling northbound on Courtleigh Street which turns east into Eilerts. After the accident, the vehicle of interest continued driving and was last seen turning and heading southbound on Fabrique Street.

The suspect is a white male and the extent of the damage to the car is unknown.

Anyone that has information is encouraged to call 911 or Crimestoppers.

Sgt. Scott Bruno with the Wichita Police Department was the officer that was able to provide details of the hit-and-run.
