A Salina man came to an unhappy surprise when he entered his residence and found a man attempting to steal tools from his home yesterday morning.

Ben Videricksen, 63 of the 1100 block of Beverly, found 39-year-old Gerald Brown in his residence attempting to steal various tools valued at $60. Videricksen confronted Brown, then called police.

Brown faces charges of aggravated burglary.
