30-year-old Paul Akumbu is in police custody after being arrested for sexual assault on August 21.

The victim, an acquaintance of Akumbu, is a young female in her late teens, who called police to report the incident. The incident occurred in central Salina.

Akumbu is being charged with rape and criminal restraint.
