KSAL Staff - November 6, 2016 7:00 pm

Business is booming for a company based in Salina. Triplett Inc. doing business as 24/7 Travel Stores, is expanding across Kansas.

The company is currently in the middle of several major projects.

They have purchased the restaurant and hotel adjacent to their location at 2200 North Buckeye in Abilene. The La Fiesta restaurant will remain open with plans to relocate in the near future. The hotel buildings will be torn down immediately and the ground leveled off for future development.

Triplett, Inc. is currently working on various site plans that includes razing and rebuilding the current 24-7 Travel Store adding fueling capacity for both cars and trucks. As part of the raze and rebuild of the 24/7 Travel Store in Abilene, the company is seeking a restaurant and a hotel partner as part of the redevelopment.

The 24/7 Travel Stores have eight locations from Goodland to Maple Hill along I- 70, with an additional location on I-135 in west Salina. A new location will be opening in McPherson in early spring of 2017.

“The Abilene 24/7 Travel Store location is important to our operations and we plan to provide the City of Abilene an attractive entrance into the community.” stated Mark Augustine, President of Triplett Inc.

Triplett is expanding its storage unit business as well. The company is adding an additional 160 storage units, giving them over 1400 self-storage units in Salina.

Business Is Booming? Typical announcement here on KSAL.com. Booming compared to what? So what now Triplett is going to offer more minimum wage jobs (maybe 5) in Kansas? Oh boy what a boom!! You idiots make such a big deal out of crap like this it isnt even funny. Like bragging about the air service from Salina to Denver. 10 people fly out of Salina to Denver daily and you all call it a success? WTFE!!! Triplett execs have to pay NO state income taxes because of the tax breaks Brownbutt and his cronies passed in 2012. But the poor losers they will hire at minimum wage from these new openings will have to pay their fair share of state income taxes. Kansas is such a backasswards state it isnt even funny anymore. Why even publish an article like this? Oh because Salina in going to the pigs and you have to publish something. Glad I left Salina years ago. You and your local government are pathetic. Just sayin.

I agree with all you say. But what has this company done for Salina? Really someone answer that question.
