Snow that fell across the area, including just a dusting in some locations and several inches in others, caused at least one fatal crash.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2004 Freightliner semi was headed west on K 156 Highway. It came around a curve, and as it nearly  jack knifed into the on coming lane of the highway it collided head on with an on coming 2016 Kenworth semi.

The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 41-year-old Ernesto Rafeal Nevarez Medoza from Mexico was killed. The driver of the Kenworth was not seriously hurt.

The fatal crash happened at around 5:30 Friday evening on K 156 Highway in Ellsworth County.
