USD 305 Superintendent Candidates to be Introduced

The community will have an opportunity next week to meet candidates vying to be the next Salina USD 305 Superintendent of Schools.

According to the school district, the application window has closed for superintendent applicants. After a team chaired by the Kansas Association of School Boards screens the applications, an applicant pool will be presented to board members at a special meeting on January 10.

Three to five candidates will be invited to interview during the week of January 14-18. Candidates’ names will be released sequentially; the name of each candidate will be made public on the morning of the candidate’s interview day.

Each candidate’s designated day will include

  • Interviews throughout the day
  • A public reception scheduled from 3:45-5PM in the District Office SEC Room (everyone welcome!)

Interim Superintendent Dr. James Hardy has led the district since July of 2017. Dr. Hardy accepted the temporary position to help best position the district to search for a new long-term leader.
