Trailer Park Theft

Two safes housing numerous items were taken from a west Salina trailer on Tuesday morning after a break-in.

Police Capt. Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that the break-in occurred between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Tuesday from a trailer at 1661 W. Republic Ave.

The two victims were gone during the time of the burglary. When one returned at 7 a.m., she saw damage to the window next to the front door. The victim then saw that the two safes being stored in the bedroom had been stolen.

The safes housed miscellaneous jewelry and documents, as well as a large amount of cash.

Loss and damage is listed at $8,800. There are no suspects.
