A stolen SUV is found smoldering on Centennial Road early this morning.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that just before 2am Monday, a group of Kansas State Polytechnic students discovered a vehicle that was on fire in the 4800 block of S. Centennial Road.

A crew from Rural Fire District #6 responded to the blaze about a half mile north of Smolan Road.

Investigators say the 2000 GMC Yukon was reported stolen from a Salina home in the 400 block of Maple by the owner early this morning.

It is estimated as a $2,000 loss.
