First responders are taking stock today after storms prompted officials to close stretches of highway in some areas.

On Thursday, a Rooks County Sheriff’s spokesman said officers shut down parts of Highway 183 between Stockton and Plainville due to downed power lines.

Officials said more storms were expected in the region.
