Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is issuing a state of disaster emergency declaration in the aftermath of flooding in the state.

The declaration allows for the use of state resources and personnel to help with response and recovery efforts.

Heavy rains this past weekend led to widespread flooding in Kansas including in the town of Natoma, where dozens of people had to be rescued from their homes.
