New KS Governor Sworn In

A new governor has taken office in Kansas.

Democrat Laura Kelly was sworn into office today at the Kansas Statehouse in Topeka.

Kelly defeated Republican Kris Kobach in the November general election, and she replaces outgoing Governor Jeff Colyer.

The inaugural ceremony took place on the south steps of the Kansas Statehouse at 11am.
