A post that went viral on social media about a female Salina Police Officer who “went missing,” was determined to be fake.

Just this past weekend, a Facebook post circulating a female SPD officer who went missing became viral and sparked many concerns. Police Captain Jim Feldman tells KSAL News, this post is absolutely fake and there is no female officer at SPD who is missing.

SPD stated, this is a common scheme that is done across the country and if there is any concern about a post that regards a missing officer to please contact the police department.
