The CDC is pleading with states not to drop school mask mandates.

Director Rochelle Walensky says now is not the time given the high rate of new infections. She told the news agency Reuters they still recommend students mask up.

Walensky said  that even though several states have announced an end to mask rules, CDC guidance hasn’t changed.

The CDC still recommends universal masking in schools and in areas of high COVID-19 transmission.
