Early morning pouring rain prompted a delayed start, but by mid-day the clouds gave way to sunshine and cool cars, motorcycles, and food trucks filled Oakdale Park. It was all part of the first ever Salina Big Brothers Big Sisters Legacy Car and Bike Show.
Big Brothers Big Sisters President and CEO Amanda Otto was a little nervous when the rain started to fall, and breathed a sigh of relief when the sky cleared. She told KSAL News she was grateful for all the support for the event, which several area car clubs and organizations embraced.
Over 100 vehicles, including classic and modern cars, trucks, vans, and Jeeps filled the park. There were vehicles as early as a Model T, as late as modern day Corvettes, and everything in between.
Based on the success of this first event, the goal is to now make the Salina Big Brothers Big Sisters Legacy Car and Bike Show and annual event.
