Saline County Commissioners will consider greenlighting a vehicle lease program at their next Tuesday meeting.
Saline County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes has been sifting through data – with a goal to find better fleet management and potential savings over the next ten years for taxpayers.
Smith-Hanes joined in the KSAL Morning News Extra and covered a range of topics including a proposal that would begin to shift over 80 county-owned vehicles into a replacement schedule through a lease agreement.
Smith-Hanes says some of the key objectives for the lease program are to lower the average age of the fleet, reduce operating costs and realize a possible savings of $360,000 over the next decade.
