Busy Weekend in Salina

This weekend will be a busy one in Salina, with multiple events planned.

Things begin Friday night with a 90s Retro Dance Party, and end Sunday with the Discover Salina Naturally event. In between there are multiple things to do.

  • Star Wars themed “May the 4th be With You” events at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center. Events include Salina Comic Con – Episode III 10:00 am – 6:00 pm in the facility’s Heritage Hall.  Salina Liberty indoor football in the arena at 6:30. A Red Cross Blood Drive will also be held from 9 till 3 in conjunction with Comic Con.
  • 2019 Salina Sculpture Tour unveiling. It will be a scavenger hunt of sorts, looking for sixteen new sculptures that will be unveiled in downtown Salina on Saturday. Sculptures are unveiled at 11:00.
  • The City of Salina will be hosting its 11th annual E-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday. E-waste refers to old electronic equipment that is ready to be discarded , but this event offers the opportunity to recycle even more. Once again they will be accepting almost anything that has a cord or uses a battery. The E-Waste recycling event is from 9am till 1pm at the East Crawford Recreation Area.
  • Rodney Crowell in Concert at the Stiefel Theatre at 8 PM

  • Day 2 of Salina Comic Con at the Tony’s Pizza Events Center 10 – 4
  • Discover Salina Naturally.  Get outdoors and celebrate your place in nature and your community at Discover Salina Naturally, this coming Sunday. The event is from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Lakewood Park. Organizers say this one-of-a-kind festival will have something for every member of your family, and it’s free to enter. It introduces young families to local history, children to nature and entertainingly educates the community on the value of a responsible and sustainable future. It offers over 60 participating demonstrators, historical reenactors, artists, booths, vendors and clubs. Enjoy delicious food, entertainment, kids activities and more. There will be temporary signs to help direct visitors to the free festival.
