Company officials say a design issue may prompt a short-term downturn in the production of Boeing’s 737 MAX at Wichita’s Spirit Aerosystems Incorporated manufacturing facility.

Officials say the manufacturing issue involves the installation of two fitting to the aircraft’s aft fuselage section.

Spirit Aerosystems reportedly builds the complete fuselage of the 737 aircraft.
