Longtime Republican statesman Bob Dole says the GOP will see “wholesale losses” if Ted Cruz is the party’s nominee for President this year.
The former Kansas Senator, Senate Majority Leader, and 1996 Republican presidential nominee told the “New York Times” on Wednesday that he doesn’t know how Cruz would deal with Congress as President because, in his words, “nobody likes” the first-term Texas senator. The 92-year-old Dole called Cruz an extremist who isn’t willing to work with his own party.
In an interview with MSNBC last month, Dole said he “might oversleep” and not vote in November if Cruz is the Republican nominee.
