Restroom Break Leads to Arrest

KSAL StaffMay 16, 2014

A Salina father is charged with child endangerment after leaving his one, and five year old children locked in a car.

According to Captain Jim Norton, officers were called to the Big Lots Store, 2450 S. 9th on Thursday just before 7pm, after a concerned citizen called police to report two children in a car with a propane tank on the front seat.

Police found 26-year-old Andrew White inside the store with his 3-year old child.

White told officers he pulled off because the 3-year-old needed a bathroom break.

Captain Norton adds the propane bottle was empty.

The children were placed with family members.
