AUDIO: Kansas Wesleyan Coaches Show 12-18

The Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes are officially on the holiday break.

And the Kansas Wesleyan Coaches Show goes dormant for a couple weeks as well.  The program will be back on January 8, 2018,  from 6 to 7 pm, live at Burger Theory inside the Holiday Inn just past Lowe’s. Come in for the $6.99 Build-Your-Own-Burger Special that includes a side. Various members of the Wesleyan athletic department will be there.

The women’s basketball squad wrapped up the 2017 KCAC slate with a 75-56 defeat to Friends in Wichita. The Coyotes were outscored 18-9 in the first quarter and 20-10 in the third frame for their seventh loss on the season. KWU fell to 5-3 in the KCAC despite a career-high 15 points from sophomore Courtney Heinen. Head coach Ryan Showman recapped the loss, shared positives for the initial part of the season and gave his Christmas traditions.

The men’s basketball team had an exhibition game following the 88-80 loss to Friends. Wesleyan went to Fort Hays State to take on the NCAA Division II Tigers. The Coyotes hung around for the first 10 minutes, but that was it in an 83-49 defeat. Sophomores Jordan McNelley and Nate Leach had 14 and 11 points, respectively. Head coach Anthony Monson talked about the two contests, mentioned how high the ceiling is for the team and chatted about family Christmas traditions.

To wrap up the show, Pat Strathman gave his top 10 moments/headlines for Kansas Wesleyan athletics for 2017.
