Steven Don Luckey

Steven Don Luckey, 56, of Salina, loving father of two, passed away April 9, 2019, at his home in Salina, of natural causes. Steven was born in Beloit, June 22, 1963 to Donald and Erma Luckey (German). Donald passed away in 1975, while Erma Luckey currently resides in the Parkview Care Center in Osborne.

During high school Steven participated in the Boy Scouts of America achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating high school from Waconda East High school in Cawker City, Steven joined the U.S. Air Force where he served eight years until 1991 attaining the rank of E-4. During his military service, while stationed in England, Steven met and married Joanne Bawden. They had one daughter, Rebecca, and one son, Daniel. After his military service Steven returned to college where he earned a degree in computer science at Kansas State University, Salina.

Steve had a passion for family and relatives, always interested in others. Good natured and easy going with family and friends alike. He loved playing cards and board games and was always ready for a game whenever anyone was around.

Steven is survived by: his daughter, Rebecca Luckey and grandson Seth of Kansas City; son, Daniel Luckey of Kansas City; mother Erma Luckey of Osborne; brothers, Michael Luckey (Rose) and daughter Ella of Frisco, Texas, and Edward Luckey of Kansas City. other surviving relatives are: Richard and Millie German, Kenley German of Deshler Neb., and Rodney and Maureen German of Ft. Worth, Texas; and a special relative, Marlene German of Glen Elder, whom he was especially close to. Steve was preceded in death by his sister Diane Marie Luckey who passed away at the age of two.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 10, 2019, at Glenwood Cemetery, east of Glen Elder, Kan.
