Boys tennis

Salina Central swept the AVCTL-I meet, winning the singles division, doubles division and team championship. Central finished with 49 points, edging Maize with 42.

Doubles team of Reed McHenry and Max Shaffer remained undefeated on the season, taking down Maize’s Chase Schreiner/Tanner Ohnmeis 6-4, 6-4 in the championship.

Freshman Collin Phelps defeated Maize’s Bode Carter 7-6, 6-2 in the singles title match. Chase Courbot finished third while the doubles team of Brady Stack and McCabe Green ended up in third.

Salina South finished sixth in the team standings. South’s top finisher was Connor Talbott, who took eighth in the singles division.

No. 1 singles – Hesston’s Logan Gamble defeated SV’s Jake Lucas 6-2, 6-1 in the championship

No. 2 singles – SV’s Cole Brumbaugh defeated Hesston’s Cade Deutschendorf 6-2, 6-1 for the championship

No. 1 singles – SV’s Matt Lucas/Johann Rauchholz defeated Hesston’s Issac Decker/Jeb Carlson 6-3, 6-4 for the championship

No. 2 singles – SV’s Carson Byers/Cade Schneider defeated Hesston’s Ethan Moran/Ben Bollinger 6-2, 6-2 for the title

Boys golf

Sacred Heart shot 298 at the Southeast of Saline Invitational. Sacred Heart had five of the top seven individual scores. Tate Herrenbruck recorded a 2-under-par 68, giving him a five-shot victory over teammate Kameron Shaw. Charlie Skidmore was fourth with a 78, one shot in front of Caleb Gilliland.

St. John’s Military’s Harper Martin matched Gilliland for fifth with a 79.
