A Salina woman was treated and released from the hospital after being transported to the ER with a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that officers were called to a home at 421 S. 12th Street on Friday night at 8:45pm after a woman fired a high powered handgun inside the home.

Police say 31-year-old Jessica Wilson was struck by a single bullet in the left side of her abdomen.

Police are still investigating the incident and say alcohol was involved.
