Janet Sue Petitjean, 72, of Brookville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Janet was born on December 18, 1953. She shared her life with her beloved husband of 46 years, Mark. Together they created a home filled with love and countless memories. She built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for those she loved most.

Above all else, Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She is survived by her husband, Mark Petitjean; her four children, Kelsey, Chris, Mac, and Kyle; her three daughters-in-law, Lee, Jill, Allison; and her eight beloved grandchildren; Parker, Tatum, Archer, Atticus, Sylvie, Milo, Alister and Dawson, all who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Thelma Sundgren, and is also survived by her sisters, Betty Gray and Jean Hoeh.

There will be a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St, Salina, KS.

Memorial donations may be made in Janet’s honor to St. Joseph Catholic Church, care of Ryan Mortuary.
