Vickie Lee Kruep (neé Agin), 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 18th, 2026, at Kenwood View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Salina, Kansas, on November 4th, 1947, Vickie graduated from Salina High School and lived a varied life holding residence in Blue Springs, Missouri; Dallas, Texas; Sherman, Illinois; and Salina, Kansas. The occupation she was most proud of was her time spent as a real estate agent, which aligned with her qualities of being a homemaker. Vickie loved sewing, baking, her many animal friends, and spending time with her family, which always included anyone under her roof.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, her son, Christopher Patrick, and her parents, Wanda Sue (neé Ellis) and Clealon James Agin. She is survived by her children, Laurie Leigh (Robert) Cornwell and Mark Thomas Kruep, her eight grandchildren: Ashley, Megan, Dakota, Dylan, Jalen, Sierra, Emily, and Connor, and her two great-grandchildren: Danikah, and Shayden, and her brother Jim (Jodi) Agin.
Vickie will be remembered for her kindness, her antics, her love, and her unwavering devotion to her family and anyone else seeking sanctuary. Vickie made each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, their friends, and their loved ones feel cherished with little rituals that were special to each one of them, but often in the form of secret treats. She had an affinity for cooking and baking, which was always most prominent at family Thanksgiving and Christmas parties with more food or desserts than anyone could need and more. She was selfless and committed to keeping her family happy, healthy, and safe and she will be deeply missed.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life and a burial service planned for the morning of August 8th. Friends of Vickie and her family are encouraged to reach out for additional details.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the University of Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training (KCART).
