A crew from Rural Fire District #2 responded to a gas stove explosion on Tuesday evening.

According to Captain Jim Hughes with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, no one was hurt after a homeowner in the 5400 block of S. Ohio turned on her gas stove. Just before 5:30pm the stove exploded and she called for help.

RFD #2 says a gas leak at the connection point behind the stove led to the blast.

The 42-year-old woman was not hurt and there was no other damage in the house.
