Molly M. McCarty Younger

Molly M. McCarty Younger, 86 of Salina, Kansas passed away on Monday May 4th, 2026 surrounded by family at Holiday Resort Nursing Home in Salina, Kansas.  Molly was born on March 5th, 1940, in Geary Co. Kansas. The daughter of George (Hap) and Hattie Adam. She grew up on a farm between Junction City and Chapman, Kansas. Molly attended Chapman schools where she graduated in 1958. On July 16th, 1958 she was united in marriage to Warren (Pete) McCarty. This union was blessed with two children, Tammy and Deanna. Molly worked outside of the home for many years.  Montgomery Ward in Junction City, Farmers Alliance in McPherson, Kansas and Tony’s Pizza when moving to Salina, Kansas. At the age of 52 Molly relocated to Hays, Kansas and attended the Hays Academy of Hair and was the oldest student in her class. Anyone that knew Molly knew she took a great deal of pride in doing hair. One of her favorite things was having her own hair done weekly. A hair was never out of place!  Molly returned to Salina in approximately 2018. She loved racing! Dirt track and Nascar were her passion. She loved spending time at the track with her family and friends. She also loved spending time at her little home away from home at Kanopolis lake. When time permitted, she also liked to travel to the nearest Casino. She loved playing the penny slot machines! Molly loved and took great pride in all her family.

Survivors include her two children, Tammy Weems (Dennis), Hutchinson, Kansas and Deanna Worley (Les) of Salina, Kansas. Seven grandchildren, Warren Huffman (Stacey) of Salina, Kansas, Josh Caswell (Amber) of Brookville, Kansas, Kadie Steinborn (Ralph) of Salina, Kansas, McKalab Hoffman (Blaine) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Brittany Willer (Thaine) of Salina, Kansas, Darcy Oliver (Derek) of Mcpherson, Kansas and Courtney Worley of LaFayette, Georgia.  Fourteen great grandchildren, Madie, Conner, Wyatt, Garrit, Addie, Gracie, Wayden, Chace, Ryley, Brayden, Beckham, Dayton, Deegan and Dristan.  Two great grand fur babies, Opal and Ruby. And one great- great grandson, Baylor, was born only two days after her passing.  She also is survived by many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three half brothers and two great grandsons.

A private burial will be on June 7th at Highland cemetery in Junction City, Kansas. There will be a celebration of life on that same day June 7th at 1 o’clock in Salina, Kansas at VFW Post 1432. 1108 W. Crawford.
