Nelda Anne (Livingston) Fecteau

Nelda Anne (Livingston) Fecteau, 87, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on April 12, 2026.

Nelda was born on April 11 in Manhattan, Kansas, to Orville and Lenora Livingston. She grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1957. She went on to attend Kansas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1961, and later received her master’s degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University.

Nelda began her teaching career in Clay Center, Kansas, where she taught fourth and fifth grade. While living there, she was married. She later moved to St. George, Kansas, where she stayed home to raise her two incredible daughters, Patricia and Pamela. In 1976, Nelda and her family moved to Salina, where she resided for the remainder of her life.

In 1983, Nelda returned to school at Brown Mackie College, earning a degree in Office Administration. She then reentered the workforce full-time while raising her daughters and concluded her career at St. Francis Ministries as an accounts payable clerk.

Nelda cherished time spent with her daughters, including leading their Girl Scout troops. She was known for her thriftiness and enjoyed finding good deals at grocery and department stores. She also had a passion for creating floral arrangements.

Nelda is survived by her sister, Laurel (Livingston) Erikson (Larry); her daughters, Patricia M. Huerta (Juan) and Pamela Haas (Mike); her grandchildren, Jessica Huerta Kampfe (Brendan), Alexander Cruzpagan, Vanessa Cruzpagan, Jennifer Huerta-Frakes (Kyle), and Zach Webb; and her great-grandchildren, Brecklyn, Isaiah, Eli, Alayna, Alexis, Khali, and Leo. She is also survived by nephews Clint and Scott Livingston, along with other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Livingston; her sister, Linda (Livingston) Fecteau (Ron); and her nephew, Paul Fecteau.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina, Kansas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. The family invites guests to a luncheon at Oakdale Elementary School, 811 E. Iron Ave., following the service at the cemetery.
