A two-vehicle crash on a Southwest Kansas highway killed five people, including three children.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a Ford Ranger and a Dodge Dakota collided Thursday afternoon on Highway 156. The crash happened after the Dodge left the road with its passenger tires. The driver over-corrected and rotated into the Ford with its passenger side.
Four passengers in the Dodge, 29-year-old Brianna Kauffman, and three children ages three, five, and seven were killed.
The driver of the Dodge was taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford, 45-year-old Adam Edwards was killed.
All involved in the crash are from Garden City. None of them were buckled up.
The crash happened Thursday afternoon on K 156 Highway about two miles west of the Hodgeman County community of Hanston.
