Leticia “Nina” DuBois, 94, of Salina passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born in Manila, Philippines to Jose and Teresa (Valero) Burgos.
Nina graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila with a history degree. She met Leverne DuBois and they were married in 1957 in Okinawa, Japan. Through the years they lived on many military bases including their final assignment at Schilling Air Force Base in Salina. Nina worked as a field representative for the social security office for 20 years in Salina retiring in 1991. Outside of work she found many ways to stay busy. Nina loved to paint, sew, and work in her garden. She also enjoyed classical music and taking care of her three poodles.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Leverne DuBois in 2011. She is survived by a son, Jim DuBois (Susan) of Salina; granddaughters, Kathy Reed (Ryan), Diane DuBois (Matt); great-granddaughters, Taisley, Tierrah; great-grandson, Otis; and two sisters, her twin, Tina Wilson and Gloria Billingsly.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.
