Martin Harold Hoppock

Martin Harold Hoppock, 49, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on the third of May 2025 at his home.

Marty was born on the ninth of March 1976 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Martin Wayne Hoppock and Phyllis Anne Morrison.

He attended school in Salina, first at Sunset Elementary, then South Middle, and finally South High School.

Marty married Trena Kay Sippel on the 12th of April, 1997, in Salina.  They brought into the world three daughters; Anastasia Marie Hoppock, Bylli Eugina Lauren Hoppock, and Jesse Danyael Hoppock.  They were mutually proud grandparents to Nissa Rosalie Cullen.

Marty was an active member of Salina Heights Christian Church, often gracing the worship service with his drumming.  He, along with Trena, were active in the church’s youth program, regularly chaperoning extended road trips.

From a young age Marty displayed a passion for music, receiving his first drum set at the age of 14.  Throughout his life he shared that passion with many others through the churches he attended and the Salina area rock bands Tite Grip, Swept Aside, and Pandora Roxx.

Many people will remember him for his fun-loving nature, and welcoming smile.  He had a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh.  Perhaps his most memorable feature was his way of making anyone feel at ease in any situation.  And he gave the best bear hugs ever.

Remaining to cherish Marty’s memory are his wife Trena; their children, Anastasia Hoppock, Bylli Hoppock, and Jesse Hoppock (Eric Thompson); granddaughter Nissa Cullen; father, Martin Hoppock; step mother Sonya Hoppock; siblings, Brad Hoppock, Matthew Hoppock (Kim Hoppock), Sunny Jackson (Roy Breese), and April Booker (Chad Booker); Brother in law Darren Sippel (Michelle Sippel); nieces and nephews Malachi Sippel, Braydin Sippel, Alice Hoppock, Avery Hoppock, Samuel Breese, and Madeline Breese; Grandmother, Della Schwindt, and a host of very close friends.

Preceding Marty in death are his mother Phyllis Jackson, step father Bill Jackson, brother Billy Jack Hoppock, nephew Oliver Breese, and mother in law Vella Sipple

A memorial service will be held on the 16th of May at Salina Heights Christian Church, 801 E Cloud, at 10:30 AM, with Mickey Birney officiating.  Inurnment will be private at a later date.
