Richard Hahn, 90, of New Cambria, KS, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 19, 2025 surrounded by family.
Richard was born November 7, 1934 in Salina, KS, to Francis “Bud” and Julia (McGee) Hahn. He attended a country school northeast of Salina until eighth grade and then was in the last graduating class from Washington High School in 1952.
Richard married the love of his life, Mary, on October 30th, 1981. His life was centered around his family, his faith, his strong morals, and relentless hard work. In his free time, he found joy in camping, fishing, playing horseshoes, and spending time outdoors. His family will always remember their time spent on the farm and forever treasure the memories that were made there. Throughout his life, Richard was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and a true friend.
He spent his working life working for UPPR for a year and then for Michaelson Construction Company for two years. After that, he started part-time farming and working in Salina. He worked for International Milling Company for approximately 15 years, Wyatt Manufacturing Company/High Plains Manufacturing for another 15 years, and Turbine Specialities for the last 15 years. He retired in November 1999.
