Work Trailer Burglarized

Spools of copper wire are taken from a work site.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that tools and thousands of dollars worth of copper wire were stolen from a trailer – while it was parked at Westar Electric sub-power station southeast of Salina.

Deputies say someone cut the padlock on the trailer owned by Capital Electric, of Riverside Missouri, sometime between last Wednesday night and Tuesday morning and removed 6, 30-foot spools of 4-inch copper ground wire.

Six other spools of copper wire were also taken along with tools.

Total loss and damage is listed at $6,400.
