A pair of women from Junction City were arrested over the weekend for allegedly shoplifting over $5,000 in clothing and jewelry from stores at the Salina Central Mall.
Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 29-year-old Natasha Cliff and 48-year-old Myrtle Crawford are accused of stealing clothing and jewelery from JC Penney and from Dillards.
Police were called after JC Penney employees observed the women taking clothing from the store without paying for it, and putting it inside a Hummer parked in the mall parking lot. Police recovered the JC Penney clothing, and also found in the Hummer clothing and jewelry taken from Dillards.
Sweeney says that $1,915 worth of items were taken from JC Penney, and $3,200 worth of items from Dillards.
Both women could face charges that include felony theft.
