A Salina man was arrested yesterday after holding a woman at knife point outside her front door yesterday afternoon.

26-year-old Douglas Burdine of Salina allegedly went to a female acquaintance’s house yesterday around 12:30. He held a knife up to her neck, and then she started calling for help. Burdine then pushed his victim into her home. A passerby heard her cry for help and alerted Salina police.

Upon arrival, the victim couldn’t be located as she escaped through the backdoor. Shortly thereafter, she returned to the residence.

Burdine faces charges of battery, criminal restraint and aggravated assault.
