Woman Injured at Salina Speedway

A Newton woman was injured at Salina Speedway after a demolition car rolled over her leg on Saturday night.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that 23-year-old Shelby Crawley and her husband Bradly, both of Newton were sitting on the hood of a demolition car they own at the speedway located at 2841 S. Burma.

The driver, Jacen Sprague started the engine and the couple jumped off the hood.

Deputies say the driver did not realize that Shelby had slipped on the ground and was run over by the front wheel.

Crawley was taken to the hospital with bruising on her leg.

No citations were issued.
