Two Killed In Crash Near Ellsworth

Two people were killed in a crash near Ellsworth Sunday night.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Dodge Durango was headed southwest on K156 Highway. A Chevrolet Impala was headed north on K14 Highway. The Impala was stopped at stop sign, and preceeded across K14 Highway. It crashed into the Durango as the driver of the SUV was trying to make an evasive maneuver to avoid being hit.

Two people in the Durango were killed. They are 64-year-old Wiliiam Rabas and 56-year-old Delores Rabas, both from Russell. Neither was buckled up. The driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Darin Martin of Clafin, was hurt and was transported to the hospital in Ellsworth. He was buckled up.

One person in the Impala was hurt. 31-year-old Sarah Martin from Claflin was transported to a Wichita hospital. She was not buckled up.

The crash happened at 6:20 Sunday evening at the K14 and K156 Junction, 1.5 miles south of Ellsworth.
