An elderly couple from Newton were injured in a rollover crash on Thursday.

Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Niles and Stimmel Road around 9:35am Thursday morning after a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by 81-year-old Janice Gaeddert left the roadway and rolled onto its top in a corn field.

Gaeddert’s husband, 86-year-old Milton and another passenger, Luetta Enns, 82 of Hillsboro were transported to the hospital in Salina.

Deputies say Janice had a cut on her head and Milton was complaining of back and shoulder pain.

The couple told officers that they were headed to Colorado Springs, Colorado and ended up on Niles Road by following directions from their GPS.
