Truck Goes Airborne Over Creek Bed

A Manhattan man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday night when his truck went airborne over a creek bed and crashed into a tree.

According to the Kansasa Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Michael Perry was driving a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck headed west in 6800 block of Anderson Avenue. The truck drifted across the center double yellow lines and into the south ditch. It then vaulted over a creek bed and struck a large tree. The truck came to rest on its passenger side.

Perry, who was buckled up, was hurt. He was transported to KU Medical Center.

The crash happened Wednesday night at 9:16 about 8 miles west of Manhattan on Anderson Avenue.
